Spring Valley Christian School was founded in 1978 as a vital teaching ministry of the Cleveland Free
Will Baptist Church. For a quarter of a century our church school has had the distinction of being
known as a school with high standards. The goal at the outset was to establish a truly Christian school
that would honor our Lord, Christ Jesus.

We at SVCS feel it is a compliment when someone says our standards are “too high”. The Holy
Creator, God of the universe, set His standards for us. He has not given anyone the option of lowering
His moral standards of living. We sincerely endeavor to uphold them and teach our students the same.

Our Philosophy of Education
.Spring Valley Christian School offers the very best in academics with the latest advancements in
curriculum. However, the major strength in the teaching/learning process of our church school is the
God-centered, Bible based approach to learning. Students at SVCS learn character and ethical
behavior by being taught the sixty character traits that can be found in the life of Jesus.

The emphasis in educating a child must be based on the child as an individual. All twelve year olds
can't be grouped together physically to wear the same size clothes; neither can they be grouped
together mentally to learn at the same rate. Every child must be on a level of learning where he/she can
perform. A child must master a concept before moving ahead. There is no advancement without
learning.

Spring Valley Christian School uses Biblically based individualized curriculum from Accelerated
Christian Education, Inc. obtained under special purchase agreement.
